A  limited edititon of Spirit of Liverpool Liver Birds is helping to raise funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice. A reception, hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s  Linda McDermott, to launch the campaign was held in the historic boardroom of the Royal Liver Building. Businesses are being invited to buy limited editions, at £500 each, to display as a sign of their pride in the region with all profits going to the charity. The charity’s mascot, Claire Bear attended the reception.

The Liver Bird, The Spirit of Liverpool, is to help raise funds for the children’s hospice, Claire House.

The charity is soon to have a Liverpool base in addition to its Wirral hospice. This will support the growing demand for the care they provide to children suffering from terminal illnesses and the support they give to families when life could not be tougher.

The project is being supported by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Roz Gladden and the reception will be hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Linda McDermott. It will be held on the afternoon of November 18, the BBC’s Children In Need Day and hospitality is kindly being provided by Catalan Wines Ltd and The Chancery.

Limited editions of the Spirit of Liverpool Liver Bird created and hand-finished by sculptor Rick Myers are being created for businesses and organisations to display as a sign of their pride in being part of the region. All profits from the sale of the birds will go to Claire House.
